Thessaloniki

Thessaloniki is a beautiful city and the second largest city in Greece after Athens. Thessaloniki has got 788.952 population.

 Thessaloniki was founted by Kassandros 315 B.C.

The king of Thessalloniki was Kassandros who married the sister of Alexander the Great. In 1912 the city was libarated from Ottoman administration.In 148 B.C. Thessaloniki was the capital of the Roman empire of Macedonia.Romans occupied Thessaloniki in 146 B.C.

 In Thessaloniki we can see lot of sight:The White Tower, The Castles, The Macedonian museum and The Kamara.

Thessaloniki is the second largest city in Greece and simultaneusly the co-capital. it had lots of names before, such as: Thessaloniki, Salonika and Thessaloniki. It took its name from the half sister of Alexandser the Great. It' s history is big and interesting as the whole  

greek history. It was founted by Kassander in 315 B.C. It's a beautiful city with a lot of ancient places and monuments. It reached its peak during the Byzantine times but the Ottoman Turks managed to conquer our city in 1432 for about 5 centures. 

Thessaloniki was liberated on 28 October in 1912.Those years we had the German Occupation. This is the history of Thessaloniki.
